Training Slides: How to Speak with Local Boards

On May 15, 2019, KCDP Deputy Chair Laura Bray presented a training session on “How to Speak to Local Boards” — such as City Council, County Commissioners, etc.

The training covered what boards meet and when; how to sign up to testify; tips on how to testify; and more.

Whether or not you had a chance to attend, we felt that the slide deck and handouts from that presentation could be a helpful resource for anyone interested in advocating for policy and action at the local level.

You can flip through the slide deck and handout using the controls in the viewers below. You can hit the “full-screen” button in the lower right corner of each viewer to view them larger, or tap the menu button next to that to download the slide deck, either as a PowerPoint file, or as a PDF.

Questions about the presentation or about taking next steps in advocating for policy? Use our interest form to submit your thoughts or questions, and Laura or someone else from our team will get back with you soon.
